Tim produces wood engravings and woodcuts in print editions of 15 to 30. He cuts his own wood blocks from holly, hawthorn, box, apple, pear, mahogony and pine. The natural shape of the block often becomes part of his designs. Blocks are printed on handmade paper with archival ink using a Vandercook proofing press, a machine made in the early 20th century and favoured by fine print and book artists today. Tim’s watercolours are mainly story illustrations and usually have a fantasy emphasis.
